Who: Missy and JulietWhen: before trial 2Where: storage room[ Misoka Magica ]
Juliet strode down the stairs into the storage room, immediately heading over to the nearest stack of crates. She didn't know what she was looking for, exactly, she was just looking around - although she might find something useful or interesting. The first crate she came to was already opened, and she began rummaging through it. It was filled with seemingly random items, none of them of any use in particular. Once she was satisfied that she had seen everything in it, she set the lid back on, moving around the side of the stack to see if there were any other already opened boxes.

Missy made her way down to the storage room quietly, listening to the soft tmp-tmp-tmp of her own footsteps and bmp-bmp-bmp of her necklace against her sternum. Her hands fidgeted quietly with the corner of her leather jacket. It was quiet on these stairs; it seemed everyone liked to hang out on the deck level. It was hard going places without people. Well, for other people, at least; Missy didn't mind being on her own.
Leaning against the wall, Missy took a moment for herself, taking out her hairtie and letting her hairfall down to her shoulders. She wasn't expecting anyone to be down there, but she thought it would be a pretty safe bet.
When she entered the room, however, she found that she was wrong. There, across the room, was Juliet. Missy blinked in surprise and quickly began to put her hair up again in her old bun, smoothing her hair down quickly. What did she come down here for? Why was Juliet down here? Wasn't that butler-girl?

Juliet looked up quickly as she heard footsteps walking down the stairs, turning to face them and automatically straightening up. "Ah, hello, miss," she said in greeting, tugging gently on the hem of her jacket to straighten it. She'd seen this girl a few times around the ship, mostly in passing, but she had never gotten to know her name, or what she was like. "I don't believe we've met yet," she continued, only slightly hesitantly.

Missy took a moment to regain her bearings, looking at the butler. "U-uh... Um..." She blinked quietly, shook her head slightly, and stood up straighter. "I'm Missy," she said, weaving through the boxes to the girl, "The SHSL Clockmaker. And you're... The butler, right?" She blinked at her quietly. "One of Tomoko's friends..." Tomoko had mentioned her before, she believed. "Sorry, I didn't expect you to be here... I didn't expect..." Her eyes wandered to the box Juliet had been digging in and contemplated it quietly. "Sorry if I startled you."

"Yes, Juliet," she replied with a nod. Tomoko had mentioned her to others? That was.. interesting. In a good way. She knew Tomoko was friends with her, but she did't even consider that he might talk about her to others. A small smile flickered across her face, growing into a full one. "Oh, no, you didn't startle me. I just wasn't expecting anyone else to be down here," she replied. "Are you looking for something, or...?

Missy shrugged nonchalantly, considering the boxes around her cooly. Maybe she would find something useful, maybe not. "Not particularly. I'm just seeing what I can find, I guess... You know?" She shrugged and picked up a small box. It sounded like there was a lot of things in there, but she put it back. It probably didn't have anything useful to her. "Are you looking for anything specifically? I can try to help you, if you want..." Her hands went for another box, which was too heavy for her to pick up, so she returned it to its place promptly.

"Ah, alright. I'm not looking for anything in particular, either," she replied with a small shrug. "Just anything interesting or useful, really, and I haven't found anything." She watched Missy politely, still but relaxed. Missy seemed like a nice girl, if a bit shy - and definitely polite. And if Tomoko liked her, that means she was trustworthy. "So, since you're a clockmaker... would you be interested in gears and wire? I believe I saw some in this box," she offered after a moment, gesturing to the crate behind her.

Missy rushed to the box in surprise and excitement, throwing it open and digging through the gears and wire. "Oh, wow!" Missy exlaimed, excited. "Where did you find this? I've been searching this storage room almost every day to find a jackpot like this!" She grinned at Juliet, letting herself express her happiness, even if it was just this once. Getting up, she held out her hand for a grateful handshake."Thank you so much." How had she found it? Missy had scoured this room up and down for anything of this sort, desperate to find something to match her SHSL. Now she finally had something. She could finally use her talent.

Juliet broke into a grin as Missy rummaged through the box. The clockmaker was obviously delighted, which made Juliet feel extremely satisfied. She hadn't felt so helpful since she arrived on the ship. "Just luck, I suppose," she replied, shrugging. "And you're quite welcome." She shook Missy's hand quickly but firmly. "Would you mind if I could watch you if you make something with those materials? Your talent seems really interesting." This was quite true; Juliet had always found small machines interesting.
One time when she was little, her father's pocket-watch had broken open, spilling gears and springs across the floor. Juliet had tried to fit the gears back together, but there were so many of them she barely even knew where to start. Eventually her father had to persuade her to stop obsessing over it and let the watchmaker in their town fix it. Juliet smiled faintly as she recalled that memory. To this day, she could never figure out how those gears fit in, no matter how many times she puzzled over it in her mind, the little pieces of clock she had memorized turning every way imaginable.

Missy looked at her in surprise. What? She was... asking to see her perform her talent? Missy felt a very, very small smile grace her lips. "W-wait, really? You... you're actually interested in my talent?" No one had seemed really that interested in her. No one but Tomoko, really; but Tomoko didn't even look that interested in her himself. Juliet was... genuinely interested in watching her make her clocks. "Well, um... sure! I'd love to show you!" A fond memory came to mind: a time when she would make and fix clocks with her dad. It was the best thing in the world, being able to sit down and just fix; feel the gears click back into place and hear it tick once more. Her father's knee pressed to hers as they worked at the small little table together. He would always used to comment on how well her nimble little fingers put each gear in place... How she handled each clock with the delicacy of a mother caring for her newborn child. "You'd make a better nurse than a clockmaker, little sport," he would tell her, ruffling up her then-short hair or kissing her forehead. The fond memories made her smile a little more, and she looked into Juliet's eyes. It was a good feeling.

"Oh, yes, of course I'm interested in it!" she replied with a shy smile. "And thank you very much! Y'know, I've always wanted to watch someone working with clocks... and now I get to watch the SHSL clockmaker." She gave a small laugh.

((Psh it's fine sometimes I don't have the energy for more than a few words so I don't mind at all.))
Missy grinned at her and brought up a box to sit on. "I can do it now," she muttered, almost hesitant to admit it. She was still shocked that anyone really wanted to watch her work... Especially someone who was as sweet and pretty as Juliet. Missy had never imagined talking to the pretty butler, but here she was... And talking about her stupid SHSL, no less! "...What's being a butler like?"

"Oh! Alright," she replied. "Do you need anything else? More materials, or a workbench, or whatnot?" She stopped herself after a moment of ranting, clearing her throat.
"Ah... being a butler?" she paused, frowning thoughtfully. "Er... I can't really compare it to what you do, or what really anyone else does, but... it's..." She really couldn't think of any words to describe what she did every day of her life, or how it differed from what others did. "I suppose I don't focus on myself as much," she said after a moment.
"Not to make it seem like others focus on themselves all the time, or anything, it's just that I devote pretty much all the time to either assisting my master or just helping out around the house." She bit her lip, realizing as she spoke how much she missed working in a normal house, doing her regular job.
