Something smelled bad.
He had been trained by his own father; his saviour. There's something up in here, and the Watchdog could tell by the faint whiff of... something, and it never got off his nose. He grew stiffer and stiffer day by day and lost any resolve to put on his usual, dumb demeanour. He knew this wasn't him. This is the other Kaneki, the only who killed his father. The one who believed that killing is right. The one who almost killed...
But right now, why were they cooperating with each other? Since when was Kaneki willing to find out that smell in the air?
"Hier stimmt was nicht..." he licked his lips as he spoke, leaning on the railways.
Something smelled rotten, and the Dog knew it.

Tori soon grew bored of loitering around the dorm rooms and searching for someone to bother- and besides, she wanted to take a break from all the talking. No better place than the deck, right?
Sighing, she ventured out, set on watching the waves and she sky and the seagulls- if any passed- yet instead of finding that, she found Ren, leaning against the railing, searching for something.
Tori knew that he kind of tried to avoid her after the... "incident", but she wasn't gonna give him rest. If they were not going to talk to each other anymore, at least they could be in a comfortable silence.
She joined him on the rail, peering out into the sea before leaning back slightly and adjusting her hat. She muttered a quiet greeting before going silent again, looking away from him.

Tori began drumming her fingers on the railing, resting her cheek in her other hand. So much about silence... It felt weird. And uncomfortable. Just like the humid and salty air and that other weird smell in the air.
She occasionally stole glances at him. Come on, say something, she mused.

"I currently have no subjects to bring up, nor talk about." Kaneki spoke lowly as if to read her mind, looking back at the sea. But truthfully, he was really drowning in guilt, and it made him hot under the collar and his hands to tremble.

"O-oh" she stammered, her voice quiet. She withdrew from him, taking a step to the side. "Sorry...." She wanted to at least ask him if she could- well- stand here or something, but the questions seemed unwanted. Tori just tensed her shoulders and inhaled the salty air- before sighing again and relaxing. The water seemed so interesting...

The silence was unbearable for the current Kaneki that inhabited this body, and he clenched his fists. Sighing, he racked up his brain for things to numb down what he felt.
"D'you reckon you're gonna get out of here?" he said.

"Huh?" Tori raised her head to look at him, caught offguard by the question. "Wha-- no, not really." she pressed her mouth in a thin line, still looking at him before diverting her attention to the horizon. "It'd be nice, though... Just imagine. You, me, all our friends on a plane, flying to land... Or home I guess." she shrugged.

"Well..." she began playing with a strand of her hair. "This kind of depressing attitude kind of brings your mood down, I guess. Nothing to worry about, though" she cleared her throat, "I still have my mouth. I can be optimistic anytime I want- I guess I'm just a bit tired now." she sighed.
