"Chamomile? I suppose you like the same kind of tea as Ennosuke then." Tomoko noted, opening up the cupboard. "Of course, if Juliet hasn't been using up all the tea bags again..." Only when he had finished the sentence did he realize what he had just said. He clenched his fist for a moment, then carried on with getting the tea bags out. That was just a slip of the tongue - nothing more.
The bear... Used someone to look like him... So it could hurt her more. He made her suffer more. Now he was going back on himself... The point still stood though - he should've helped her, instead of letting her get her body broken and her head smashed in... She didn't deserve it, and it didn't have to happen. But he messed up. It was his fault that he hadn't been with her for longer, convinced her otherwise.

Taro paused at the mention of Juliet's name, wondering whether it had been a deliberate use or simply one of habit - after all, Tomoko still might be used to talking about the SHSL Butler.
Sure enough, the boy's grip on the fragile tea box had tightened, crushing the cardboard a bit and pulling it apart at the seams. Inhaling deeply, he walked over to the SHSL Bodyguard, and, after hesitating in fear that the boy might over react to his touch and slap him, he gently laid his hand on his shoulder. "I-it's not your fault." He murmured. "It's the mastermind's fault, whoever it might be, and they used your relationship with Juliet in a sick twisted way. No one could have predicted how this would end up, so don't beat yourself up over it, okay?"
He smiled, gently placing a tiny hand to Tomoko's cheek and turning to to face him. "Right? So you'll try not to think about it?" He urged. "Right?"

Could have stopped her from murdering. Could have stopped it from killing her. There were so many different ways to end the sentence, all rushing through his head. The tension disappeared, and the tired bodyguard sighed. "I am fine. It is the mastermind's fault." The sentence didn't sound right coming out of his mouth, and almost made him feel nauseous for saying something like that. If someone he had been protecting had died, he had been taught to believe that it was his fault. So saying that just went against everything he believed in. No wonder he felt sick with himself. "Let's carry on making that tea, shall we?"

"Let's carry on making that tea, shall we?" Taro straightened up and smiled gently at the boy. "Yeah, you're right. It was the mastermind's fault. No need to feel bad about it yourself." He soothed. "You won't be helping anyone, least of all yourself, if you continue on like that, ne? So don't worry about it." "But yeah, tea would be nice. You can calm yourself down while making it and while drinking it, as long as you manage not to pass out while making it, right?" Taro laughed, then quieted himself down. "Ah, sorry. That wasn't funny. The opposite, in fact. I'm just making things worse than they are, so please ignore me and alert me whenever I cross a line. That'd be helpful for both of us, I think." Turning around, Taro began to shuffle around the cupboards to find the ingredients to make cookies. What did one put in cookies, again? He knew sugar was an option, so a lot of sugar. Maybe a bag or two would do it. And since these were chocolate chip cookies, then chocolate chips were a kind of obvious ingredient. What else, though? Maybe some vinegar? Baking soda? Salt? Ugh, he was glad he was not the SHSL Baker.
