And suddenly Tomoko is taken away, his whole body thrashing wildly as the claw grabs his body and temporarily obscures his face from the rest of the students. He’s not treated with care - after all, he is a murderer, and everything that’s happened simply explains his actions, not excuse them - as he’s carried away, dropped into the execution ring.
Lights from nowhere flash, blinding Tomoko once again, and when they do dim down a little bit suddenly he’s in a room as white as the lights were and he’s not alone.
Black spots in front of his eyes make him stumble a bit, shaking his head from side to side in an attempt to clear them. Looking back up, Tomoko realizes with a start who the people are.
His (friends? peers? lovers?)
people he needs to protect.
There are three of them, from what he can tell, and even though he can’t see their faces he can easily tell who they are from the back.
Aisu’s closest, her brown hair spilling down behind her in waves as Monobears approach her, their dastardly smiles never reaching their eyes.
So of course, as SHSL Bodyguard, what else can he do but protect her?
He tackles her, his body shielding her from the blows as they hit his back - they’re hitting him with hockey sticks, oh the irony - and splinter against him, bruises already forming.
They hit him one last time on the head, stars flying in front of his eyes, and that’s it.
Tomoko sits up, rubbing his head as he turns Aisu over, to make sure she’s oka-
She doesn’t have a face.
Right before his eyes, Aisu(?) dissolves, but there are two other people in the room and Tomoko can’t linger on it because the others might not be fakes and they could easily die just as easily, and he’d have done nothing about it.
Tomoko spins around and there’s Missy, her neck dangerously close to the razor sharp edges of the gears of the clock tower.
Sprinting towards her dizzily (that blow to the head is still making his brain roll around inside of his skull, throwing him off balance) he pushes her out of the way.
But he himself is far out of his prime and the edge of the gear gets him instead, slicing off his right arm with too much ease, like it’s sliding through butter instead of flesh and bone, and there it goes.
He can’t register much through the pain, but he turns toward Missy, hoping that she’s-
She doesn’t have a face either.
She grins (how can she grin without a face? Tomoko doesn’t understand) nastily at him before vaporizing right in front of his eyes, and then he hears a scream and he turns around and there’s Nanashi.
Her face isn’t towards him either, but that scream has to be from the real her as she’s strapped to the bomb, squirming wildly.
Tomoko can’t run anymore through the pain and the dizziness, so he’s forced to awkwardly waddle towards her, stumbling and falling too many times in an attempt to get to her.
“H-hey,” He finally murmurs when he gets there, “you okay?”
He lifts up Nanashi’s face with his one remaining hand, and-
She’s faceless too.
The timer goes off, and then suddenly not only is Nanashi gone, but Tomoko’s gone with her.
